Jose Santiago's LIB 200 Journal

Welcome to my blog. My name is Jose Santiago. I am in Liberal Arts Social Sciences and Humanities at LaGuardia. I am planning to transfer and major in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching. Both sciences and humanities are important to everyone who is studying and no matter what major a person is following. I think positively about both the Sciences and the Humanities. Science is a very important factor to society today and I don't think most people would be able to live without it because it is a constant requirement for all societies. The humanities in the other hand help to teach people how to be human. I think most people in the United States today think positively about science/technology because it is something we depend on and can't live without. And we know that we need science in order to fix many of the problems we are dealing with. Although there a few things in which the majority of the population in the United States disagree with, for example cloning and stem cell research. I don't believe that people have accepted science as a way of understanding the world due to the vast majority having been raised under religion. In religion usually people only believe in the words of the religion and don't accept other ideas and beliefs from other religions or accept science. Science and religion have not gotten along and will no do so anytime soon.
